Legal
Terms of Service
Effective date: July 21, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and Skillful Antics, LLC (“Theolotree,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) governing your use of the Theolotree app and related services (the “Service”). Theolotree is a product of, and operated by, Skillful Antics, LLC, located at 877 W Minneola Ave, Suite 120698, Clermont, Florida 34712. Please read them with our Privacy Policy.
In these Terms, Theolotree Parties means Skillful Antics, LLC and its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, and licensors, together with the churches and church administrators that use the Service. Several protections below (the disclaimers in Section 10, the limitation of liability in Section 11, and your indemnity in Section 12) run to the benefit of the Theolotree Parties.
1. Acceptance of these Terms
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of a church or organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind it to these Terms.
2. Eligibility (13+)
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. We do not knowingly permit anyone under 13 to use the Service. A neutral date-of-birth check runs once, right after you sign in; if you tell us you are under 13, we sign you out and delete the account that sign-in just created, so nothing about you is kept. We do not store your date of birth, only whether you met the requirement.
3. The Service
Theolotree is a discipleship app that delivers gospel-centered lessons from your church. It is a multi-church platform: each church manages its own lessons and members. We may add, change, or remove features over time. The Service is provided for personal, non-commercial use within your church community.
Where the Service is offered. Theolotree is offered for use in the United States only. We do not target, offer, or direct the Service to users outside the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for complying with your local laws.
4. Your account and responsibilities
You sign in with an email and password, or with Sign in with Apple or Google. We never see your password in readable form; our identity provider (Supabase) stores it only as a salted hash. You are responsible for keeping your password and sign-in method secure and for activity under your account. The display name you choose must be your own to use and must not impersonate another person or organization. Please tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Break the law or infringe anyone’s rights while using the Service.
- Use a display name that is unlawful, vulgar, hateful, harassing, deceptive, or that impersonates someone else.
- Attempt to access another user’s account or data, or any part of the Service you are not authorized to use.
- Probe, scan, or test the security of the Service, or interfere with or disrupt it.
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or copy the Service or its content except as the law expressly permits.
- Misuse the AI authoring tools (available to administrators) or any administrator feature.
6. Church membership and administrators
You join one or more churches, usually with an invite code. While you are a member, that church’s administrators manage the lessons you see and can view that church’s member roster (your display name, email, role, and join date) and aggregate activity totals, as described in our Privacy Policy. You can leave a church, switch your active church, or delete your account at any time in Settings. Each church is separate; your data is never shared across churches by Theolotree.
If you are a church administrator, you accept these additional responsibilities when you take on or act in that role, and you represent, warrant, and agree that:
- You review all content before it reaches learners, and you have the ability to edit, approve, or remove every question and lesson in your church.
- You own or have all rights, licenses, and permissions needed for the notes, source material, and content you upload or submit, and that content does not infringe anyone’s rights and complies with applicable law.
- You understand and agree that the notes and source material you submit are sent to third-party AI (large language model) services and used to generate questions and lesson content.
- You agree never to include sensitive, personal, or private information about anyone in notes or any material you provide to Theolotree (including material used for AI authoring, questions, answers, or any content). You are solely responsible for all material you provide, and must use great care to ensure it is appropriate and lawful.
License to Theolotree. You grant Skillful Antics, LLC a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, fully paid-up, transferable, and sublicensable license to host, store, use, reproduce, modify, adapt, translate, create derivative works from, publish, print, reprint, publicly display, perform, distribute, sell, license, monetize, commercialize, and otherwise exploit any content, questions, lessons, notes, and materials submitted to Theolotree, for any purpose (including commercial and revenue-generating purposes) and in any media now known or later developed, without any obligation of notice to, consent from, credit or attribution to, or payment to you or your church. This license is irrevocable and survives termination of your account or your church’s subscription. You are responsible for the content you author or upload, and Theolotree is not responsible for it (see Section 7).
7. Content and intellectual property
Our and the churches’ content. The Service, including its lessons, design, software, and branding, is owned by Theolotree and the churches that author content, and is protected by intellectual property laws. Lessons are made available to you only for your personal use within the Service; you may not redistribute or republish them.
Scripture. Scripture quotations are from the Berean Standard Bible (BSB), which is in the public domain. It is reproduced verbatim.
Your content. Your display name remains yours. By providing it, you grant Theolotree a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, store, and process it as needed to operate, improve, and secure the Service.
Church-authored content. Lessons and materials authored or uploaded by a church and its administrators are the responsibility of that church. Theolotree does not author, endorse, or independently verify church-authored content. If you believe such content is wrong or infringes someone’s rights, contact your church administrators, or contact us using the details below.
Copyright complaints. We respect intellectual property rights and respond to notices of alleged infringement. If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated agent by email at support@theolotree.com or by mail to Skillful Antics, LLC, 877 W Minneola Ave, Suite 120698, Clermont, Florida 34712. Please include the work you claim is infringed, the material you want removed and where to find it, your contact details, a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized, a statement made under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act, and your signature. We remove or disable infringing material and terminate repeat infringers in appropriate cases.
8. AI-assisted lessons
Some lessons are drafted with the help of AI as a tool for administrators. AI output is not authoritative: every lesson and every block is reviewed and approved by a church administrator before any learner sees it, and Scripture is inserted verbatim from a fixed public-domain source rather than generated. We do not send learner personal data to the AI by design; administrators are responsible for the material they enter and must not include personal data.
9. Not professional advice
Theolotree provides discipleship and educational content. It is not professional, medical, mental-health, legal, financial, or clinical advice, and it is not a substitute for care from a qualified professional or pastor. If you are in crisis or need help, contact a qualified professional or your local emergency services.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Neither Theolotree nor any of the Theolotree Parties warrants that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure, or that any content (including AI-assisted lessons or church-authored content) is accurate, complete, or free of error. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so some of these may not apply to you.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Theolotree Parties will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, goodwill, or profits, arising from or related to your use of the Service. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Theolotree Parties’ total combined liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed ten U.S. dollars (US$10). Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Theolotree Parties from any claims, damages, losses, and reasonable legal fees arising out of your misuse of the Service, your content (including, if you are an administrator, any content, notes, or materials you author or upload), or your violation of these Terms or of the law or another person’s rights.
13. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as content ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive termination.
14. Suspension and discontinuation
We may suspend or terminate any user’s access, and may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (in whole or in part) at any time, for any reason, at our sole discretion, with or without notice. We make no warranty that the Service will continue to be offered, and we have no obligation to continue providing it to any user.
15. Fees
The Service is currently free for church members; we do not charge consumers or collect consumer payments in the app. Churches license Theolotree separately under their own agreement. If we introduce any consumer fees in the future, we will tell you in advance and obtain any consent the law requires.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the state and federal courts located in Lake County, Florida will have exclusive jurisdiction and venue over disputes, except where mandatory local consumer-protection law gives you other rights. Before filing any claim, you agree to contact us first and give us 60 days to resolve it informally; many concerns can be resolved that way. To the fullest extent the law permits, any claim relating to the Service must be filed within one year after it arises, or it is permanently barred. To the fullest extent the law permits, you and Theolotree each agree to bring claims only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class or representative action.
